Contact Us

While we hope you never need to see us for an emergency you can rest assured that North Bridge Equine Associates is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to provide emergency care. Be it a colic, laceration, swollen eye, sudden onset lameness, or any other equine emergency your horse may experience, we are always available to provide emergency care. We understand an emergency can be a stressful time so we want to let you know how our system works:

  • During normal business hours: Call 978-337-1260 and press 3 for the Emergency line. Your call will ring to one of our technicians who will discuss your horse’s situation and will contact one of our Doctors who will call you to make a plan for your horse.
  • After normal business hours: Call 978-337-1260 and Press 3 for the Emergency line. You will be transferred to our answering service who will page the doctor on call. The doctor will call you back within 15-20 minutes (often much sooner than that). If you do not receive a call back within 15-20 minutes, please call back and ask the operator to page the doctor again.
  • If you are not sure if your horse needs to be seen urgently, please call the emergency line and have the doctor on call paged. We are happy to discuss your horse’s situation and help determine if a visit is needed.
  • We are very excited to announce the formation of an emergency veterinary care collaborative between North Bridge Equine, Dr. Katrina Altmaier of Grafton Equine Associates and Dr. Meredith Boulay of Middlesex Equine starting January 1, 2019. Some of you have already met Drs Altmaier and Boulay as they have both covered emergencies for North Bridge Equine in the past. This collaborative will provide emergency veterinary care sharing between our three practices on weekends only. Dr. Nostrant and Dr. Shen thoughtfully selected Drs Altmaier and Boulay as partners because of their excellent veterinary skills and compassion for their patients. We feel that Drs Altmaier and Boulay have a very similar style of practice to Dr. Nostrant, Dr. Shen, and Dr. Branscomb and we have complete trust in their abilities to care for your horses should the need arise. We feel that this collaborative will allow each of us to spend more quality time with our families, pursue hobbies and interests outside of veterinary medicine, and allow us return to work refreshed and reenergized. While we hope you don’t need to utilize our emergency veterinary collaborative, be rest assured knowing your horses will be provided excellent veterinary care if an emergency arises. The collaborative will function with each veterinarian providing emergency veterinary services for all three practices over one weekend per month. Weeknight emergency coverage will remain unchanged. The procedure for getting in touch with a veterinarian in case of an emergency will remain the same
  • North Bridge Equine requires an active Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship to provide emergency veterinary care. In order to maintain an active Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship, North Bridge Equine must have seen the client’s horse within the last 12 months for routine/wellness care and they must reside within the geographical practice area. If North Bridge Equine has not provided care to your horse(s) within the last 12 months, the Veterinary-Client-Patient relationship will be lapsed and emergency veterinary care may not be provided. Please call the office if you have any questions regarding this policy

North Bridge Equine Associates is happy to offer our clients and patients the peace of mind of 24/7 emergency veterinary medical care.
